For more than a decade, I have been a behind-the-scenes advisor and partner to select high-growth innovative enterprises, helping them scale to 6, 7 and 8 figures.
Depending on what your company needs, I will streamline your operations to save thousands of dollars in otherwise lost monthly revenues, help build and manage your teams for rapid, fluid growth, and handle your company’s high-stakes negotiations. This may include smoothing out partnership issues and team conflicts and creating ironclad yet incentivizing agreements. These agreements inspire your associates to become high-performers while making them highly accountable. I am frequently called upon to resolve high-stakes disputes that otherwise would result in costly litigation or the splitting apart of the company.
I founded two companies, one valued at $9 million and the other at $25 million. The technology of one company revolutionizes the communication among teams, totally eliminating email. The other company created foundational social media technology. I have assembled programming and marketing teams that has spanned 4 continents (US, Asia, Europe, South America). This includes teams in Silicon Valley where I lived a major portion of 4 years. I was awarded two high-profile patents (U.S. Patents 8,402,357 and 9,170,989) for technology that now can be found on hundreds of millions of web pages.
As a CEO of two cutting-edge technology companies, and previously having built and sold 3 highly successful healthcare facilities, I have filled multiple roles. This includes innovator, team-builder and continual streamliner of operations. I also have been the mediator and negotiator to build and smooth out relationships among team members, investors and more than a dozen corporate, patent and trademark attorneys. These elite team members were working with me in negotiations with multiple Fortune 500 companies and the U.S. Patent Office.
In 2015 and 2016, I was shuttling back and forth to Washington, D.C. working with congressional and senatorial offices and federal judicial officials lobbying to overturn legislation that was undermining thousands of small and medium-sized innovation-based companies.
In summer 2018, after appearing as one of the keynote speakers at a national conference on communication (see video at the top of this page), I held a 10-week course on a de-escalation system I pioneered for restoring harmony in personal, professional and team relationships. The recorded videos became the foundation for an online course platform I began building for professionals and couples to resolve conflict, handle difficult people and restore harmony in any type of relationship.
I have a new book that will be published in 2023 on the same subject entitled The 5 Phases of Speaking Your Truth
From 2004 to 2008, I had a bestselling book series featured in the Wall Street Journal entitled The 9 Insights of the Wealthy Soul. I built a following of 129,000 email subscribers and my blog posts would often receive more comments than Oprah’s television shows . . . and more comments then almost any other blog on the internet during that time.
Writing, communication and creativity is one of my strongest talents. I use these gifts to help clients such as yourself solve seemingly impossible problems.
During the years my books were becoming bestsellers, I negotiated multiple joint venture and publishing-related agreements and was featured on dozens of nationally-syndicated radio shows and television programs.
From 1996 through 2007, unbeknownst to my subscribers and millions who were familiar with me on and offline, I was a full-time caregiver to a beloved mom with Alzheimer’s. While this was the most trying time of my life, I also count it as the most gratifying and beautiful. It is where I fine-tuned the principles found in my upcoming book and course on how to handle the most difficult communication situations and reach anyone’s heart — whether a world leader, your spouse, a Fortune 500 CEO, or a loved one stricken with one of the most feared diseases of our time.
In 1990 and 1991, I was hired as an investigative reporter to use my negotiation, writing and people skills to uncover massive corporate and governmental coverups by the nation’s largest nuclear bomb facility located in South Carolina. The 300 square mile site had caused devastating environmental damage and toxic health effects for decades, including cancer and leukemia, in residents in a vast two-state area. What I uncovered influenced interstate and environmental policies by then Georgia Governor, Zell Miller.
In my mid-twenties, I lived and worked abroad for 3 years, learned 3 foreign languages (Spanish, French and Hebrew), and fine-tuned my ability to interact and negotiate with anyone from desert Bedouins, to ministers of foreign governments (Turkey and Israel), to patients from warring factions, to performers I worked with from the world’s most famous ballet companies, including the Bolshoi and Moscow Ballets.
From my mid-20s to my early 40s, I was an expert witness in more than 30 legal healthcare cases. I built 3 busy healthcare facilities (one of them abroad). During that time, hundreds of patients came to me for counseling from around the United States. I used a specialized inner-conflict resolution technique I developed and taught in seminars nationwide and abroad.
At 19 and 20 years old, while a college student, I was back and forth to Hollywood, negotiating with agents, managers and studio executives regarding screenplays and television scripts I wrote for hit shows such as M*A*S*H, One Day At A Time and The White Shadow.
On a personal note, I am an avid hiker, mountain biker, and improv performer. My 14 years doing improv helps me often transform the thickest of atmospheres during negotiations into a moment that leaves everyone smiling and feeling just a little lighter.
I have been a lifelong meditator. I attribute the clarity I have for building high-performance teams, streamlining bloated operations and finding creative win-win solutions, to the high degree of quiet I culture inside of myself everyday. I strive to bring this elevated perspective to everything I do.
